  Fixed

  • Ancient Debris double passive now properly drops extra debris when mined, and both drops are automatically smelted into netherite scrap when AutoSmelt is active.
  • Unfortunate action fail chance reduced from 100% to a balanced 50%, removing oppressive movement, jump, and interact locks. Added a 50% chance to fail Totems of Undying while under the effect.
  • Fixed an issue where gem abilities (Unfortunate, Item Lock, Puff bash, Bloodthorns, and durability chip) affected trusted allies.
  • Fixed a bug where targets affected by Flux Ground became invulnerable for several seconds. Targets now receive damage normally and their hotbar is shuffled.
  • Fixed Gold Gem absorbed souls being unable to use command-based abilities (/pockets, /amplify, /souls, /release, /charge, /conduction, /autosmelt).
  • Fixed ClassCastException when saving Gold Gem data and running /bliss goldgem fill.
  • Fixed Astra Gem Soul Capture and Dimensional Void triggering simultaneously on sneak left-click. Added sneak right-click mob capture.
  • Fixed Wealth Amplification enchantment boosts persisting permanently on items after the ability ends.
  • Fixed Astra Gem Drift and Nullify cooldowns not appearing in the action bar display.
  • Gold Gem Sundering Beam damage adjusted from 1000 to 24 HP, allowing high-tier defense setups (Turtle Master + enchanted golden apples) to survive.
  • Gold Harvest ceremony no longer triggers if the victim holds an active Totem of Undying, allowing the totem to pop normally.
  • Fixed Flux Charging Station failing to open or charge when holding the gem in offhand or via absorbed Flux.

  Added

  • AutoSmelt is now toggleable for both Fire Gem (all tiers) and Wealth Gem (Tier 2+) via /bliss autosmelt.
  • Added direct commands to trigger gem abilities: /bliss primary, /bliss secondary, /bliss tertiary, and /bliss quaternary (also available via /bliss ability <slot>).

  Fixed

  Prismatic Edge combo now breaks when anything hits you. The crit streak only reset on a melee hit from another player. Mobs, arrows and tridents left it running, so once you hit five hits you kept auto-critting for the rest of the fight. Any incoming entity damage now breaks it.

  A broken recipe no longer takes the rest of recipes.yml with it. If one recipe failed to build, the error escaped the whole registration pass and every recipe after it in the file was skipped without a word in the console. Each recipe now fails on its own.

  Recipe errors say what's wrong. An ingredient left in ingredients: after you removed it from shape:, or a shape character with no ingredient, used to throw from inside the server with no recipe name attached. The console now names the recipe and the symbol.

  Notes

  recipes.yml is written from the jar only once - edit plugins/BlissGems/recipes.yml, not the copy inside the jar. Recipes register at startup only, so a full restart is needed; /bliss reload won't do it.

  To switch which soul the Gold Gem channels, press shift + F with the gem in your main hand or offhand. Only the first soul you harvest is selected automatically.

  BlissGems v4.9.8 - The Harvest Update

  Harvest Ceremony

  • The blow that would kill a gem holder is caught before it lands. Both players are frozen in place and untouchable.
  • The victim's gem tears loose and rises spinning in the air between the two of you.
  • Both cameras are pulled onto it with a slow drifting sway - neither player can look away.
  • Both screens wash over in the stolen gem's colour for the whole thing.
  • When the gem finishes rising it goes into the Gold Gem and the kill goes through, still credited to the holder.
  • Kills the ceremony never sees (a fall finishing the fight, /kill) still harvest the old way.
  • Fully configurable: gold.harvest-ceremony.enabled, duration-ticks, rise-height, screen-tint.

  Stolen Gems Finally Work Properly

  • Every passive of a harvested gem now fires. Puff's double jump, Wealth's durability chip and armor mend, Strength's bloodthorns, Astra/Life/Flux on-hit passives - all of them were silently dead before.
  • Passives stack. Four harvested souls = four full sets of passives at once.
  • Each soul runs at the tier it was taken at - a gem torn off a Tier 1 victim keeps Tier 1 numbers.

  Two New Keybinds - Use All Four Abilities

  • New ability slots Quinary and Senary, bound to Left-Click and Shift + Left-Click by default.
  • The Gold Gem uses them for the channelled soul's tertiary and quaternary - so you now get all 4 abilities of a stolen gem instead of 2.
  • F and Shift + F still hold the Sundering Beam and the soul menu.
  • Other gems don't define these slots, so left-click keeps working normally for them.
  • Also reachable via /bliss ability:quinary and /bliss ability:senary, and rebindable like every other input.

  ---

  Death Now Costs You Everything

  • Every stolen gem is returned to the player you took it from - into their offhand if they're online, queued and handed over on their next login if they aren't.
  • Your own Gold Gem breaks. It does nothing at all until you reforge it with a Restoration Book.
  • Both switchable: gold.death.return-souls, gold.death.break-gem.

  ---

  One Gold Gem Per Server

  • With gold.summon.once-per-server on, the summon craft works exactly once. After that the result blanks out in the crafting grid.
  • The summon is announced server-wide and recorded permanently.
  • Lose it, and your only option is hunting down whoever has it.

  Gilded Armour

  • Carrying the Gold Gem puts a gold trim on your armour.
  • Armour you already trimmed yourself is left untouched, and the plugin only ever removes its own gilding.
  • Pattern configurable via gold.armour-trim.pattern.

  Restoration Ritual Can't Be Interrupted

  • The caster is untouchable and rooted in place for the 15 seconds the ritual runs.
  • You can still look around freely and watch it play out.

  All Crafting Recipes Are Now Configurable

  • New recipes.yml - shape, ingredients, output amount and an on/off switch for all 9 recipes, no code changes needed.
  • Ingredients can be plain materials (DIAMOND_BLOCK) or exact custom items (blissgems:wire_fragment), so the Gold Gem summon still refuses seven ordinary lightning rods.
  • Includes the Restoration Book, Repair Kit, Revive Beacon, Prismatic Edge, Gem Trader, Gem Fragment, Gem Upgrader and the Gold Gem summon.

  Quality of Life

  • The cooldown bar above the hotbar now shows every harvested soul. The channelled one opens out into all the abilities it can cast right now; the rest collapse to their icon and primary cooldown, so you can see what's worth switching to mid-fight.
  • gems.droppable-on-death is now documented in config.yml with an example - the setting worked before, it just wasn't written down anywhere.

  New Config: Tier 2 drops its upgrader

  • gems.drop-upgrader-on-tier2-death - off by default. When enabled, a player holding a Tier 2 gem drops a Gem Upgrader at their death spot for the killer to pick up.
  • The gem itself keeps Tier 2, so every Tier 2 death mints a new upgrader into the server. Enable it knowing that.

  Tier 1 auto-enchant is now on by default

  • auto-enchant.tier1-enabled flipped from false to true. Tier 1 gems auto-enchant at reduced levels (Efficiency III instead of V, and so on).
  • Set it back to false to keep auto-enchant a Tier 2 perk. Strength still applies its Sharpness at both tiers regardless of this setting.

  Flux Gem: Conduction is now a command

  • /bliss conduction replaces the old sneak + left-click trigger. No more teleporting yourself mid-fight or mid-mine by accident.
  • Only teleports to copper blocks - copper ore, deepslate copper ore, and raw copper blocks are ignored, so it can't drag you into a cave anymore.
  • Tells you when there is no copper within range instead of silently doing nothing.
  • Requires the Flux Gem as your active gem. Still uses abilities.cooldowns.flux-conduction and abilities.flux-conduction.range from config.yml.

  • Prismatic Edge (prismatic_edge): Legendary sword with built-in Sharpness VII, Mending, and Unbreaking III.
  • Prismatic Beam (Right-Click): Shoots a 24-block rainbow beam that freezes targets solid, deals 10 HP (5 hearts) damage, and grants Regeneration II to the wielder (120s cooldown).
  • Combo Crits: Hitting enemies 5 times in a row without getting hit back enters a Combo state where every hit crits (1.5x damage) until you take damage.

  Blur strikes with a clone. The bolt still comes down where you're aiming, but the blow is delivered by a copy of you that lands with it - wearing your skin, armour and weapon. It winds up, swings, and dissolves a second later. Damage, radius, knockback and trusted-player skips are unchanged, and kills still credit you. The clone can't be hit, looted or pushed around.

  Your config now actually updates. New settings were never written into an existing config.yml. The auto-repair checked for missing keys against a config object that had the JAR's defaults attached, so every key always looked present and the repair silently did nothing

  • on every update since the feature was added. It now reads the file on disk. On first start after updating you'll get a config.yml.backup and a log line for each key added, including the Puff sculk-immunity settings that appeared to have gone missing.

  single-gem-only: false had no effect. Turning it off was supposed to let players carry several gems, but the rule was hardcoded in four separate places and the config value was never read at all - picking up a new gem would delete the one you already had. Pickups, inventory moves, deaths and world changes all respect the setting now.

  Added

  /bliss nocdtoggle [player] - flips ability cooldowns off for a player, and back on if you run it again. Covers mythic gems too. Enabling clears any cooldowns already running, and nothing is recorded while it's on, so switching it back off leaves a clean slate. Requires blissgems.admin. Resets on server restart. Energy costs still apply.

  auto-enchant.tier1-enabled - off by default, keeping auto-enchant a tier 2 perk as before. Switch it on and tier 1 gems auto-enchant at reduced levels: Efficiency III, Fortune II, Looting II, Fire Aspect I, Feather Falling II, Power III, Punch I, Unbreaking II. Strength still applies its Sharpness at both tiers regardless.

  Notes

  Tier 1 Puff has no sculk-shrieker immunity - that's intentional and unchanged. If you want it, set passives.puff.tier1.sculk-immunity: true once the config fix above has added the key.

  Bonus hearts that survive a server crash are stale max-health attribute modifiers. /fixhearts <player> clears them, and they're cleaned up on rejoin too.

  1. Fixed offhand F-key dupe bug

  The SWAP_OFFHAND (F key) protection was only blocking swaps in container inventories, not the player's own inventory. When a gem was in offhand and you pressed F on an item in your
  inventory, the swap went through — duping the item and destroying the gem. Removed the isPlayerInventory gate so the swap is blocked in ALL inventory contexts when a gem is involved.

  2. Toggle click now also blocks F-key abilities

  Added a check for isClickActivationEnabled() in the swap hand listener. When toggle_click is disabled, the F key swap is still cancelled (gem stays safe), but no abilities are triggered. This matches the behavior of right-click abilities when toggle_click is off.

  3. Reworked Astra secondary ability — Astral Projection

  Replaced the 5-block teleport with spectator mode scouting:

  • Player enters spectator mode for 10 seconds (configurable in abilities.durations.astra-projection)
  • 8 chunk radius (128 blocks) boundary from origin — if the player goes beyond, they're teleported back to origin with a warning
  • Cannot teleport to other players — SPECTATE teleport cause is blocked in TeleportListener.java
  • After duration expires (or manual toggle), player is teleported back to their original location and game mode is restored
  • Ghost particles appear at the origin body while projecting
  • 3-second countdown warning before it ends
